Head of School. Leads the K-12 international schools in accomplishing its mission and stated goals. IT Director. Managed IT structure with 30,000 users, 9,000 computers, and 100 servers. Project manager for city-wide fiber optic Wide Area Network (WAN) connecting 47 buildings. Managed $18.1 million USD technology infrastructure project. Managed local cable TV broadcast center for the school district, including original programming and 24/7 broadcast capabilities. As Campus Network Specialist for a Houston school district, managed building-wide network, including building-wide wireless and Voice over IP (VoIP). Designed building-wide security camera system. Project Director of a National Science Foundation grant, encompassing nine school districts. Established state standards for E-Rate in Illinois and have worked at all levels of E-Rate support in several school districts in several states.
Virtual Learning. Extensive experience with Moodle, Edmodo, and Schoology. IT Consultant to Cairo American College, in Cairo, Egypt, and SMIC in Shanghai, China. Distance learning experience since 1993, including K-12 closed-circuit television delivered courses, microwave delivered graduate level courses, and Internet delivered K-12 courses. Managed several virtual schools, both public and private. Conference speaker at ISTE, TCEA, NESA, and KORCOS. While in Illinois, collaborated with the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in building a microwave-based distance-learning studio, providing graduate level courses.
Regional Director. Through state initiative, created regional support operation for 100 K-12 school districts in 24 Illinois counties. Managed 40 technicians and curriculum specialists. Built a portion of the Internet backbone that now connects all 4,000 schools, as well as all colleges and universities and state government in Illinois. Managed state and federal grant programs of $17 million USD. Established the most dynamic and error free email system in rural Illinois, with over 10,000 teacher email accounts.
Community Based Planner/Coalition Planner. Assisted 22 school districts in community based planning. Was a keynote speaker to an audience of 3,000 participants. Conducted team training and planning sessions throughout Illinois. Formed coalition of K-12, higher education, community college, library, and business leaders to provide coordinated services to K-12 teachers and administrators. Served as Ad Hoc Advisor to an organization of higher education, K-12, and public television stations in Southern Illinois.
Grant Writing Consultant. Successfully written $2 million USD in grant proposals. One grant project received national recognition by the U.S. EPA and science test scores increased to levels exceeding state and national averages. Advised over 80 school districts on how to write successful grant proposals, resulting in an average success rate of 90%.
